Buying toys for the kids is not an easy task as it may sound. Buying toys is quite a challenging task which requires product knowledge along with safety guidelines. Kids love the toys and put them in mouth while playing which you can’t control all the time. In United States many tragic accidents have happened in the past just because the toys purchased by the parents were not good and safe. You might not want to buy an unsafe toy for your child which can pose any sort of health hazard or a risk of life. Always read the labels and check the toy for the safety standards before purchasing one for your child.

Check Toys For U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
1. Toys made of fabric should be labeled as flame resistant or flame retardant.
2. Toys that are stuffed should be compulsory washable in nature.
3. Painted toys should be labeled as lead free.
4. Paints and crayons for kids must be evaluated by American Society for Testing and Materials. This evaluation is indicated as"ATSM D-4326" on the toys.
 
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) founded at Feb 2009 has led acts which states there should be no more than than 0.1 percent of lead and certain phthalates in the toys of children of 12 or less . the only exception to this law is the bicycle.
 
When buying toys for the infants and toddlers make sure toys are solid and sturdy without any easily breakable or movable parts to harm the child.
 
Infant or toddlers have a tendency of putting things in mouth so be cautious while buying toys and buy only large sized toys to avoid any kind of choking hazards to the baby.
 
While buying electronic game for your child check for UL mark on the packing of the toy to ensure safety for the kid.
 
Develop a habit of reading the labels of toys before buying. The labels of toys indicate information such as age related information, toys usage etc to help you.
