How To Cut Fresh Roses

Roses have a magnetic and magical effect. As you look at them, they give a feeling of love and happiness. They are capable of enhacing everything, right from love to the beauty of even a dull corner of the house. And thus, one must know how to keep roses fresh for long. And the key to this freshness is cutting the roses properly. Whether you have it cut straight from your garden or buy it from a florist, a little bit of trimming is required. Here are some quick tips on how you can cut fresh roses and keep them alive for many more days to come.

On the eve of cutting the flowers, water the rose bushes properly so that when you cut them the next morning, they are hydrated.

Use a sharp knife to cut the roses. Keep the length long as you may cut them short at a later time according to your need or size of the vase. Try leaving as many leaves as possible on the bush. This will help the plant in growing more roses.

As you begin to cut the roses, keep a tub beside you. As you cut the roses, place every stem into the water. This will give them the desired moisture.

Now bring the tub full of roses inside and fill it up with fresh water. Bring your freshly cut roses into the house and refill the container with fresh water. Remove the lower leaves that are not required. Now re-size the rose stems and as you do that, cut them while they are still under water. Do the cutting as quickly as possible. This will not allow the pores to close and keep them hydrated.

Now place the tub in a cool dark place for several hours. This should keep them hydrated and fresh.

Now arrange the fresh cut flowers in vases with fresh water and a pinch of salt. You could also use lemon lime soda along with warm water.
