How To Maintain Your Garden

A home is incomplete without a garden. We all know that a garden enhances the beauty of the house and gives a feeling of freshness to it and to the people living in it. Each house is blessed with a garden and to keep it alive and glowing, one has to pay regular attention to it. And to see the beautiful vivid coloured butterflies hovering over budding flowers is a delight. It not only invites goodness to the house, you will find  new birds and animals in your garden.

Today gardening is not just a hobby to many, spending time with the plants also helps in relaxing the mind. Thus, you would notice that old people are more into gardening. A lot of people even consider plants and trees as their own children. And the hobby is not just prevalent with the older lot, it’s the young too who are indulging in gardening.

Decorating the house is always fun, especially, when you have beautiful flowers at your disposal. You can even make a container garden inside your house with the availability of plant combinations. Since they are in a container, you can move them as and when you want. But these plants need to be checked for their moisture content. Since most gardens are located outside the house, they often encounter problems like the changing weather, weeds et al. Some seasonal plants need extra care.

Weeds are the biggest enemy. So it is important to take them out regularly. You can get tools that well help you to pluck them out.

Don’t us herbicides to kill the weeds. They are made of chemicals that can harm the plants too.

Digging the soil regularly is a must. This will loosen the soil and prompt the weeds to come out on their own. But don not dig too hard and too deep. You may end up disturbing the roots of other plants.

Add manure regularly. Use of organic manure can generate better results.

Avoid fertilizers too. They are not good for the plants and for your health too.

Just like your hair needs regular trimming to avoid split ends and enable better growth, plants too need trimming. So regularly trim branches so that they grow properly in the coming season.

When trees shed their leaves (if you have trees in your garden), don’t clean up the mess. Let them be there for a month or so and water them regularly. They will soon convert into manure and give back the nutrients that the tree has lost by losing its leaves. This affair might look messy for sometime. But it surely will help the trees grow better.

Don’t over-water your pants and trees. This degrades the quality of the soil and the roots get rotten very soon.
