How To Make A Thanksgiving Centerpiece

The food on the dining table looks delicious! The pain you have taken to prepare the Thanksgiving feast clearly reflects as appreciations pour from all the diners. Want to make the moment special? Add a traditional centerpiece to your dining table. You don't have to go out of your way to buy an expensive centerpiece. Here are some ideas that you can try out at home. They are pocket friendly and look great too! If you have more such ideas, then share it with us by dropping a comment at the end of the guide.

Candles: Nothing brightens up a room or a table as decorative and scented candles. Arrange variety of different shaped and colored candles in the center of the table with the tallest candle in the middle. You can keep the entire arrangement in a tray and add dry leaves and flowers at the base to give it a wholesome look.

Flowers: A floral centerpiece can also be used if you do not want to stick to the traditional Thanksgiving style. A bouquet of flowers — any flowers — will add freshness to your table. They smell good too! An innovative way of improvising on this idea is to place a big glass or crystal bowl with water in it and let some lightweight flowers float on its surface. You can also use floating candles in it.

A pot: And by that we mean a potted plant! A nice decorative or exotic plant, say an ivy plant, can also be used as a centerpiece. The best thing about them is you don't have to worry about what to do with them once the Thanksgiving festivities are over. A painted pot will please the eyes just as well.

Cornucopia Basket: This is the easiest and most traditional Thanksgiving centerpiece decoration. Buy a simple cornucopia basket — its curved cone shape is iconic of Thanksgiving. You can use real fruits and gourds or you can use plastic or wax fruits and gourds to fill it up. Simply place the cornucopia basket at the center of your table, and fill it to the brim overflowing with your gourds and fruits. Add candles on each side to illuminate your harvest!

Pumpkin centerpiece: Well why not continue the Halloween mood and use up the decorations for Thanksgiving? Take a small pumpkin and cut a hollow piece in its center so that you can place a candle there. Keep the pumpkin in a tray and decorate it with dry fall leaves. If you have more time, then instead of using just one pumpkin, you can use many. Place the biggest one in the center and arrange the smaller ones around it.
