Scheduling Watering Plan For Garden Plants

It was proved even in the early ages of civilization that even plants are living being and they require food and water just like us. They also require water in order to thrive and survive just like any other animals. Cactus which is mostly found in the remote desert areas need small amount of water or moisture to sustain its life. Most of plants have adopted themselves to strive in all kinds of environments i.e. places with very little rains or places with too much rain.

If you are a nature lover and loves to plant trees in your garden and backyard you must know in your heart that you need to supply water daily or bi-weekly.  People have misconception that overwatering can cause death of any plant which is not entirely true. Plants or trees will neglect excess amount of water. It is possible that due to excess water plant may get root rot or fungal infections which may cause its death. Nowadays, there are various systems available which can water your plants but in this article I am going to tell you how you can manually water your plants, trees in timely manner. Please leave me a comment and let me know your way of watering plants.

1
Outdoor Potted Plants: Plants which are planted in containers or pots need water more frequently than any other plants. You need to ensure that you water the plant and leave some space in the pot for air. Plants which are grown enough can sustain without water for few days but to maintain healthy plants or herbs it is advised to water them daily in summers and alternate days in winters. Pots or container installed in open garden need no watering in rainy season but try keeping them in shade to protect against excess water will be handy. In that case you should water daily or every alternate day.
2
Vegetable Garden Plants: If you are growing pepper, tomatoes, beans or other vegetable in your kitchen garden then you need to water them depending upon what you are growing and environmental temperature. You might have to water them twice per week. Vegetables like tomatoes, prefer to dry out and respond well to deep watering when they are almost beginning to wilt. Too much water and irregular watering can cause tomatoes to crack.
3
Indoor Houseplants: Indoor houseplants do not require frequent watering as most of the houseplants are chosen depending upon their need for water and sunlight. Most of these plants don’t require frequent sunlight and water. You can water them every weekend even in winter season. Houseplants are placed in cool atmosphere of your home so the soil won’t dry off quickly by the sunlight so water them once a week. You can poke your finger in the soil and check whether it contains humidity and moisture or not. If not then you can water immediately. One major thing which you need to ensure is that your plant should not drown in the pot full of water. You can anytime pour the excess amount of water out from the pot in case it is not soaked by next day.
4
Trees: Big trees do not require frequent watering like smaller plants as they can receive and contain water in their root. However in summer season when there is very little rain you can water the trees in every 2-3 weeks. When the tree is near its fruition you can water every 2 weeks to ensure that you receive nice plump, peaches or apples from the trees.
