Tips For Securing Your Home

Is our home safe?  Are we living in a safe home?  The answer to this question from most of us would be Yes but have you ever wondered the death due to robbery attempt or residential fires are close to 400,000 per year. Moreover our children’s are also at a greater risk as the number of deaths due to accidents is quite higher than the deaths due to the diseases. We can not change the destiny still we can take certain precautious to save our dear ones.

Make your home free from carbon monoxide - Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas and is generally emitted by all heating equipments and appliances which burns fuel. Though all houses have vents which can remove this gas from home but sometimes it has been observed that they are not properly functioned or designed to do so. It is always advisable to use Carbon Monoxide Detectors and avoid using generators inside home.
 
Ensure fire safety at home - A survey done Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) highlights that most of the smoke detectors in the houses are non working. The estimated figure of houses having a non working smoke detectors is around 16 millions. Moreover CSPC have also said that the most of the fires in houses occur due to the candles used as decorative. So it is always advisable to keep as least two fully charged extinguishers – one near exist and one in kitchen.
 
Ensure Child security at Home - If you have small children’s at home do a childproofing for areas like; staircase, swimming pools, fountains etc. The children’s also have a habit of swallowing whatever they see, so always keep a check on poisonous objects/ easily ingested small objects.
 
Always be well equipped for emergencies - The future is always uncertain. Thus it is always better to develop and escape plan and practice it with family members. Everybody should be aware of how to get out of the house and where the safety doors are located. Moreover it is also advisable to held somebody responsible for small kids
