Tips To Remove Algae, Mould From Brick Pavers

Brick pavers are used in the driveways, walkways and patios which certainly add to the beauty of your home. But when the brick pavers are covered by mould and algae they not only give an ugly look but also make your home quite unattractive. The best possible way to remove the mould is to hit them at an initial stage so as they cannot go deep.

This article elaborates few tips to help keep the moulds and algae away from your brick pavers. Please leave me a comment and share your experiences of keeping your brick pavers clean.

Use garden hose to clean the algae and mould on the brick pavers. Be cautious and gently use the hose as it can remove the fillers from the pavers.

You can use plastic spatula to remove the mould or algae. The alga which has just grown or is weak will be easily removed by the spatula.

Combine 1 cup of chlorine bleach for each gallon of water in a big bowl. Apply the solution on a small portion of algae.

Prepare a solution of 1 cup of dish detergent for each gallon of water. Use a spray bottle to apply ht solution to the pavers.

While spraying the solution on the algae, use the hose on the wet algae to properly remove the algae

Always use a soft-bristled brush for scrubbing the pavers. Don't use a wire brush on pavers. Always scrub gently as strong scrubbing can remove the fillers from the pavers.

After doing cleaning properly rinse the area and expose the area to sunlight as much as possible.

If the algae is stubborn you can use the power washer or fungicide. Be very careful while using them as it can harm the pavers if used strongly.
